Getting the needle

I am still without my new needles. Purlescence confirmed the order on Monday and it is coming Royal Mail First Class delivery – so where the hell are they? I’m a bit pissed off at paying a hefty £2.00 delivery charge for an item so very light – the actual mail cost will be hardly more than a standard 1st Class stamp. Overall? Not Impressed, Purlescence.

Now, Loop were much more prompt with their overnight delivery of my Sox Stix. I think I’ll stick to them in future.

Knitting these Smoking Hot Socks on long DPNs is proving to be rather more than challenging…

I am up to the leg and have more or less knitted the first square, except that I need to tink it back a few rows again, after two tinking bouts in bed last night. It’s not difficult to knit garter stitch squares – it’s just nigh on impossible to see what I am doing in the black stretches of this very splitty yarn, while I am fumbling with all those long pointy needles (and watching The Prisoner.)

Our new camcorder arrived in the post this morning (see that, Purlescence? – just 36 hours delivery on a BIG box, parcel post!) I am struggling to get a handle on what we might do with the camera but I can see maybe a few videos of knitting or spinning emerging at some point. There will certainly be action shots of Nell and her football 🙂
