Finally completed the roving that I have been spinning. This was supposed to be a PS4 North project! Anyway, ’tis done and is now part of my yarn stash.

I did not enjoy this project. The fibre was difficult to spin and made my skin itch. I really made a hash of both the spinning and  the plying. The finished yarn seems limp and lifeless. It is very silky indeed. Completely different from the Merino/Tencel blend roving that I had from Copperpot – that spun like a dream and earned me a prize. The finished “Giggle” yarn had much more life and character to it. More of the Merino “spring” and less of the Tencel “drape”, I think.

However, the colours are amazing, and I do love them very much.

Unsure what to make with the yarn. Socks do not appeal. Perhaps Stefanie Japel’s Reclamation triangle scarf?

Even if I need to crowbar it in. The thing is, I am going to continue to be short of time and space in which to write and so a two-for-one is useful and I hope to do as many of those as I can. Seems like a plan? … Continue readingA Month in France: Nothing is Lost

On our way again. Not far to go and no check in until 2pm so a late and lazy start to our day. I have been watching eagles. Not sure what we are going to be doing for the next few days. We want to take Nell to a vet and the outcome of that… Continue reading October 18, 2020 at 01:22PM
