Wednesday spinning

I managed to fit some spinning in this morning before going out, without my wheel, to spinning group. Not enough, though.

I made some progress on my sock at spinning group today. We had wonderful cake (an iced ring). I came home with a bag full of nostepinnes, some fresh eggs, and three balls of merino DK wool. It was a wonder that I managed to fit it all in my bike basket! We also had the good news that our nostepinne-maker is willing and able to produce some bobbins for us – they will be both cheaper and better quality than the Ashford ones, so that is very good news indeed. I am hoping that we can get him onto drop spindles soon, and maybe a few bespoke niddy noddies 🙂

This sock is very slow work. I keep measuring it in the hope that I am ready to turn the heel but it never seems to be quite long enough. I’d like to play with it this afternoon but I really must spin, like a thing possessed, if I am to free up bobbins for Friday’s course. I also have to photograph the nostepinnes. Perhaps I will photograph the sock while I have the camera out.

Right – where’s that wheel?
