I have had a good look at the list of "the most influential blogs in the UK and Irish blogospheres" - which I mentioned yesterday. I truly have no idea how we ended up in it - but I am far more astounded by the obvious omissions from the list. Where is Ysolda Teague (ysolda.com)? …
A bit less of the knitting?
Today's Thursday Thrill might seem a bit of an odd one, as it heralds a period of less knitting... I have been painfully aware, since I took to the knitting frenzy, that my reading time has plummeted - to zero. I have always been a reader, and I truly love books - but it is …
WIP it Quick
Today's Wednesday WIP is all but a Friday FO, in fact. This Amalia Shawl was cast on at the weekend and I finished it off at Spinning today, casting it off after the ladies went home. I knew as soon as I saw the pattern released on Ravelry that I wanted to make this shawl. …
FO: Down Among the Dunes
Quite some time ago, I made an over-sized Morning Surf scarf from multiple shades of a Colourmart cashmere scrap set of laceweight in blues and greens - A Tumult of Waves. It was rapidly rehomed and I always promised myself a replacement. Down Among the Dunes takes its inspiration from the shore, rather than from the sea, and is made from the Cashmere/Silk/Merino blend yarn. Like its earlier counterpart, the yarn is held doubled and the shades changed one at a time. Details and gallery.
FO: Annis in Wonderland
I fell in love with Annis as soon as it was published as a Knitty surprise. I lost no time in casting it on, using some of the Colourmart 2/28NM scrap sets that I had in my stash. Details and gallery.
FO: Moss on my Shoulders
Woolgatherers will know that I have been honoured to be selected by Rosematy (Romi) Hill as one of her test knitters. The Merope Shawl, recently completed, was my first test knit for Romi - this little sock weight shoulder shawl is my second. I made mine in Posh Yarn's Elinor yarn and I added some size 6/0 beads from my bead stash. Details and gallery.
