A chilly prompt today: Cold
Due to our habit of over-wintering down south, we don’t really experience much in the way of cold these days but we did experience a few chilly days in Spain in January this year. Our frosty morning at the Alhambra has already been mentioned during December Reflections so I had to dig deep for something new.
The image that I plan to share here can be seen in my Blipfoto account until such time as the blog starts to behave again.

We spent a little time up in the hills after fleeing the Costas. It was a shock to the system, to be walking on the beach in shorts and t-shirt one day and then to arrive in the Sierra Maria shortly thereafter – bundled up in hat, scarf, gloves and fleece jacket!
it was a pleasant change though and the weather was fantastic, if cold. It was very dry but one morning we went out and there were some small perfectly-formed snowflakes scattered across the frozen ground. It had clearly been cold for some time as the swimming pool on site had around 8 inches of ice on it! The ground was like iron and the snowflakes that we saw as we set off on our walk remained visible when we returned two hours later, even though the sun was shining.
I have photos but they are all at home.
The Blipfoto image linked to above was taken through the van window as we wound our way up the Maria pass. It doesn’t really illustrate the COLD prompt but it’s all that I can offer just now 🙂
