This week, down the wrong end of the telescope

It has been a funny old week. Far from having a whole week to myself to do with as I please (i.e. knit/felt/weave/walk/take photos etc.) I found myself tidying and cleaning for the largest part of the week and blogging for the next largest chunk of time. Both my fault, really.

A kindness, a demise, and a re-purposing

Today is Day 6 of Knit/Crochet Blog week and today’s prompt is:

Revisit a past F/O

Bring the fortune and life of a past finished project up to the present. Document the current state and use of an object you have knitted or crocheted, whether it is the hat your sister wears to school almost every day, or a pair of socks you wore until they were full of hole. Or maybe that jumper that your did just didn’t like that much…

May I confess that today’s prompt has me thoroughly stumped? I really do not have any interesting stories to tell. Will a horror story do instead?

Second Weaving

For most of this week, I have been completely convinced of my inability to produce an FO post today but lo and behold… I reached Thursday afternoon, the trees cleared, and I finally saw the metaphorical wood. In other words, I whipped that craft room into proper order and had space in which to work.

To be truthful, I do not suppose this really is a finished object; it is a finished weaving, but it has yet to become whatever it is destined to be.

Home comforts

Today is Day 5 of Knit/Crochet Blog week and today’s prompt is:

Location, Location, Location

Where do you like to indulge in your craft? Is your favourite arm chair your little knitting cubby area, or do you prefer to ‘knit in public’? Do you like to crochet in the great outdoors, perhaps, or knit in the bath, or at the pub?

I prefer to be at home rather than being anywhere else and so I naturally do the majority of my knitting at home…

The Thursday Thrill: Windswept

I shall keep today’s post brief as I am not really here, but elsewhere. I have bene busy and not had time to do much research f or this Thursday’s Thrill, but I thought that I would share with you this pattern that I discovered via reading one of the Knit/Crochet Blog Week posters yesterday. This is Cherrymakesstuff’s choice of inspirational pattern and I have to agree with Cherry about how wonderful it is…

Skilling Up

Today is Day 3 of Knit/Crochet Blog week and today’s prompt is:
A New Skill

Is there a skill related to your hobby that you hope to learn one day? maybe you’re a crocheter who’d also like to knit? Maybe you’d like to learn to knit continental, knit backwards, try cables or attempt stranded colourwork.

As I have written on this subject very recently, perhaps I should take the wild card today… or maybe not…
