A new Finished Object – my Kauni Rainbow version of the Swallowtail Shawl. This project has a long history – this is a long post!
“…The project went well, or so I thought, and it grew very quickly – but looked somewhat odd. I had knitted shawls before, but only tip-up, with a clear understanding of the increases and the way on which it was shaped. Trying to get my head around the centre-top, out-and-down construction was difficult. In fact, I adopted a wait-and-see approach, looking forward to the eventual surprise…”
Three finished objects in one post!

I got most of the jacket done in a day, knitted a bit more the day after… then it languished – for reasons I am now uncertain about.
The project took a kick in the pants when N e-mailed me this week …”
Earl Grey socks in Toddy yarn. Basically a lovely semi-plain bloke pattern…
These are really splendid socks. The recipient loves them, and so do I.
I finally mustered sufficient backbone to sew in the ends on these mitts. They were finished this evening and have already been deployed. Appropriate appreciation was shown.
Opal socks FO.
I managed to get a few unwanted lines in these. They’ll probably ease out when I wash them. Pretty socks. For me.
