One set of gifted yarns that I can readily identify is that from Jenny, who sent me a set of tiny skeins from her precious collection of Bonny yarns from The Yarn Yard. Each little skein is just long enough to make a square, thanks to some very rough mathematics and Jenny’s measuring.

Blanket Renamed
This blanket makes me smile so much – I love the parcels and the kindness of strangers, and I love the knitting process and selecting the yarns from the stash. I was considering renaming the Ferry Blankie as the Community Blanket as it seems at times that the entire kntting community is getting behind the project! I have given that some more thought and have arrived at a different naming strategy…

There’s a wee bit of blood on the keyboard but I can finally announce that I can do elapsed time calculations in my knitting tracker spreadsheets!
It is addictive
The main problem with the Ferry Blankie project, as far as I can see, is that it is very difficult to put down. I shall never be able to pick it up daily and knit one square. Not just one square. Not with all those beautful yarns clamouring to be matched up and used.
I tried to knit one square yesterday, and just look what happened!
Ferry Blankie update
There has been little mention of the ferry blankie project recently – most likely because there has been little progress. There have however been plenty of generous donations! I am hoping that I have kept track of them all and said my thank you’s where they are due. I added one square to the blankie …
