Two Fine Gentlemen

I took my new camera to town with me on Friday. The plan was to capture some FO shots of my Brandywine Shawl in the sunshine on the ferry. We were blessed with the most fabulous weather, but the photo shoot just didn’t work out.

These two fine gentlemen live over the door of the Town Hall. I had never noticed them before as I usually walk on the other side of the road, right beneath them. As I had the camera with me, I thought I’d put it to use and take a snap of them.

Smartly turned out!

Shopping was as fraught as it ever is, but we did find time to sit down for some lunch. The ferry was extremely busy in both directions РI stuck my ears on and knitted happily on my purple Citron while listening to (variously) JS Bach, Clapton, and Lakm̩.

The Citron is ideal for ferry knitting – those long rows of stocking stitch take minimal attention. The shawl is in its final segment now, and  the final ruched band is almost complete. Somewhere between 60% and 65% done. I am planning a little lace edging at the foot of the extended final frill, and maybe a picot cast off.

Oh, the Brandywine Shawl? I wore it all day and I loved it. It is eminently wearable and that bright pink is so very cheerful – it cuts quite a dash when worn on top of my deep peacock green sweater. Well, let’s just say that you couldn’t miss me in a crowd – Large Colourful Lady comin’ through! 🙂 I am sure FO shots will turn up at some point.

This means that Chloé can come and go as she pleases (she refuses to use the cat flaps and expects us to give her ingress and egress via the sitting room window). We were taking a coffee break in between sorting out the van, when we heard a strange Chloé-type noise. I did not like it. I wondered if she hadContinue readingThanks!

Petunias always make me think of Dinghies

It has been a busy day, not much time for anything. We walked the dog this morning but I took no photographs until I decided to take a few potshots in the village on our way back.
