Winter Shawl Progress: 18/10 Off the needles

Brief note to record the finishing of the Winter Shawl. I finished the crochet cast off on Sunday evening, while watching Strictly on the iPlayer. I must have got faster at the crochet as I went along as the first half took two days and the second, two hours.

Needless to say, the crochet edge is not of the highest quality...

The crochet edge is a very simple one, of chain loops – and looks remarkably like a bunch of broccoli, if you ask me.

I had to lay it diagonally across my king-sized bed in order to take a photograph

Now I have to block it and that is not going to be straightforward – it’s a bit of a monster and already needs the whole bed to lay it out on, before even considering stretching it! I’ve had recourse to eBay and have sent for 32 additional sq feet of interlocking foam matting… that should fettle it. As long as I can find a space large enough to lay it out in, of course.

FO post follows after blocking, as usual.
