Scruffy Beggar

You may call me a dirty pig if you wish but… I just washed my Clapotis for the first time (- I didn’t block it after knitting.)  I only mention this because I am totally gobsmacked at the amount of dye that washed out of it.

The yarn was a hand-dyed Aran weight silk. I washed it in a weak solution of Eucalan and cold water, leaving it to soak without agitation.

Every yarn that I have had from that supplier has run colour. This event was the worst, and has reassured me that an earlier decision not to shop there again was the correct one.
