Most Wanted

Sock Innovation: Knitting Techniques and Patterns for One-of-a Kind Socks
Sock Innovation: Knitting Techniques and Patterns for One-of-a Kind Socks

If I can generate a wee bit of income this year, these two books are currently at the top of my “most wanted” list. Linked to the Woolgatherer’s Amazon affiliate account – feel free to break out of the link but it costs you nothing, and might generate a small amount towards my savings so that I can buy these myself…

First up, the amazing Cookie A’s book, due out in April, I think.

Sock Innovation: Knitting Techniques and Patterns for One-of-a Kind Socks

Cookie A is a genius, there is no other term for it. Her engineering approach to socks is simply awesome and the fit is terrific. She also provides plenty for the thinking knitter to be doing, as well as a ton of style. Great socks.

There’s a PDF download  preview of the book at Cookie A’s web site, www.cookiea.com.

The second book that I have my eye on is edited by Carol Sulcoski:

Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn

This book has some killer patterns in it – they already listed at Ravelry.

Particularly exciting to me are Spread SpectrumSpot Check but there’s a whole bunch of possibilities there.

Got it! 🙂
