August Break 2025, Day 19: Fast
Mr L is not a fast driver. I am daily grateful for this, because I dislike being on the road – to the extent that I stopped driving thirty years ago. Speed makes me nervous.
August Break 2025, Day 18: My Smile
I have a horrible smile; I have a wonky lip that makes me appear to have a permanent sneer. My teeth are awful, naturally yellow, now worsened by a lifetime of drinking my coffee black. I do have a white stripe across the middle of my two front teeth, but that serves only to show up the yellow (apparently my poor enamel is a result of Measles when I was very young.) I have missing teeth, such that the gap is visible when I smile, and a mis-aligned jaw that gives me an overbite that can only be corrected by some quite drastic surgery.
August Break 2025, Day 17, Wildlife
Obviously my approach to this prompt was to wave my camera at a passing pigeon, strutting its stuff on the grass opposite our Shack.
The backup strategy could be to discuss my own personal Wild Life but, as previously noted, we are at Base Camp and it’s all rather tame.
August Break 2025, Day 16: Fur
There is no fur in our little Shack. Fur is… ick… when not adorning its original host, that is. We do have a couple of Polar Fleece blankets, but that’s definitely not the same.
August Break 2025, Day 15, Secret Wish
My not so secret wish is that every single one of us, the whole world over, can learn to live and let live – and to embrace all that is “other” because hate arises from fear.
Now, how the heck do I illustrate this with a photo? I have to go to the archive today and not capture something new. And I have an idea!
