Downy Softness

Too nice a day not to walk out with my camera for Spinning Group. I’m still very disappointed with my Tamron lens. More familiarity required, maybe. There was a patch of verge with feathers and down strewn about. I spent a while taking photos before realising there was a dead Greylag on the far side …

Spoiled for choice

I had the camera in the kitchen this morning as somebody asked me to photograph the lunch when it came out of the oven. I ended up with snaps of my muffins and my baguettes as well as my cheese pudding. At least no flash was required, but that’s a whole other tale of woe.

Colourful

This afternoon saw me experimenting with settings and trying for some true colour reproduction. These colourful juggling balls made for a perfect subject

If in doubt, play Bored Games

One of the very best things to do on a cold grey and wet day is to point a lens at a chess board, yes? I’ve gone one further today and been trying out the HDR tool in the Nik software suite and downloading new recipes for Color Efex and Silver Efex. I managed to …

What’s been going on here?

Having a bit of a blue Peter day, and trying my hand at a DIY bokeh filter. With any luck my 365 nybblet today will show some results from all the cutting and sticking.

Oh, what a circus, oh, what a show

We are having a stunning show of the Merry Dancers tonight. It was hard to choose one image to blip – I picked this one because I managed to capture Orion in the frame. (I was trying, too) Shot over the roof of our house east – west

Pictures of Lily

Busy, busy day today and so desperate for a Blip that I am using one of the images that I shot for our stock catalogue. The stick pin style is called “Lily” and I think it is rather lovely. I may keep one for myself.

Getting my wires crossed

I have been out and about with the 6D today. Electing to walk to spinning group, I packed knitting and camera and set off in good time to allow a familiarisation session with the Tamron lens. I elected to set ISO to Auto and to try and get the hang of manually focussing landscapes by …

Significant Fail

Dashed out to see if I could capture the Merry Dancers before I go to bed. Sadly it’s too windy out there for a lengthy exposure… and too cold to stay out long enough to perfect the exposure. Better luck next time but I’m not too shy to share my significant fails 🙂 Significant light …

More glass

The new Sigma macro lens has just arrived. I shal lmake time to play with that later today.
