We bagged two more sacks of “bruck” today. It’s often interesting, what washes up on shore. Mr L found this plastic bird. I should have liked to set up a more interesting shot but I was being buffeted by the strong wind and this was all that I could manage. The bird is now safely …

Nell’s new toy
Nell found herself a new toy yesterday when we were collecting bruck. Suzie also found a new toy, a deflated football, but was not prepared to pose with it today – it’s hers and we can’t have it. Just goes to show, one man’s bruck is another dog’s treasure.
100 percent collie
There’s no doubting Nell’s heritage, is there? Busy day today: up and out to the GP for prescription collection; picked up a few groceries at the Community Shop, and some carrots from the box outside N’s house; took the dogs for a run at Cata; called in at the Ranger’s house for some plastic bags …
Rayburn 880
This Rayburn 880, ex-display, may be mine soon. We’re working on it. I went in to pet it today – Mr L was asking sensible questions about whether or not it could be fitted in our kitchen. I just knew that it could. The news on the fitting front is good. We still await full …
Purple Passion
FINALLY – off my wheel. Ready to wash and I am looking forward to seeing this one bloom. About 500 yards and 112 grams of 3 ply. 1 ply silk and 2 of blended fibre (BFL, silk and IIRC, alpaca) Slight slip up in that both skeins are the same length more or less, but …
Down time
A planned interruption to our power supply today saw us settled in the sunny conservatory this morning, to keep ourselves warm. Mr L was shopping for VW campers (!) on his lappie and I did some barefoot plying. My day seems to have been more productive than his.
You’ve been framed
It has been a difficult day but I did find time to go to spinning and I did fire off a few shots, though nothing specifically intended for blipping. I kept this week’s challenge topic of Frames in my mind and snapped Life on the 59th Parallell through the spokes of my spinning wheel. It’s …
Sunday Brunch
Desperation blip due to deteriorating weather. Will update later if something better comes up – though what could be finer than a smoky bacon sausage from Donaldson’s ? Red Onion & Chive bagels, with smoky bacon sausage and mushrooms, and a smear of grain mustard. That’ll keep us going all day.
Wow – another selfie!
I’m coming on in leaps and bounds. Tell you what, my rear end is no’ so big as I had imagined. Been out on the beach getting a shot for my nybblets account. It was lovely. So peaceful and fresh. I should make the effort more often.
How many spinners can you fit into the Community R
Quite a lot, it seems! We had a great day with our new friends: Spinners, soup, cake, fibre, wheels, needles, joy!
