Suzie and Nell went to Mainland today. Nell, at 6 years old, saw her first trees and had her first ever walk in a wood. It was a scorcher, so they were glad to cool down in the loch. As for me, I REALLY wanted to join them.
It was the Annual Agricultural and Industrial Show on Sanday today. We had fabulous weather and a good time was had by all.
The first time I’ve had the camera switched on in ages. Must try harder.
There is no situation that is not improved by cake. Chocolate fatless sponge – whipped cream scented with chocolate essence and mixed with freeze-dried berries. Light as air and with the lifespan of a may fly.
The kitchen walls need a fresh coat
After calling at Stronsay this morning, I had the plane to myself for the remainder of the journey into Kirkwall. This was my first time on the Islander. Camera plans were thwarted by fog banks.
I cannot help but feel that there are better things to be doing on a sunny weekend in June… Walls now painted, curtains washed and re-hung. Skirtings to replace tomorrow and carpet to lay
Today’s Snail Mail – one from Wales, the other from the USA – both sported attractive stamps. I love the Mr Bumble one. The whole “USA forever” thing makes me gag a little, though.
