Sossidge! While we were over on mainland Orkney we took advantage of the need to go into Kirkwall on Saturday and called in at Kirkness & Gorie for cheese supplies. A bottle of wine fell into our bag too, as did posh crackers and some olives – we were planning a bread and cheese supper that day but could not resist a dried sausage addendum. Due to having bought industrial quantities of cheese (Westray Wife, Selles sur Cher, Fumaison and Pecorino Truffle) , the sausage got home to Sanday unscathed. It went well in a bean stew today.
