The inside front door is off and the frame is out. Some extensive mortar and cement repairs now needed before the new door can go in. It’s handy that Mr L is away for 24 hrs from tomorrow morning, he can patch this afternoon and leave plenty of drying time before continuing the job. The cats will need an alternative sleeping place for the next couple of nights and I am offering them the sofa in my studio with some grave reservation!

I want to find a new home for this door. Is shabby chic still fashionable? A previous resident spent a lot of love and time on the stencilling, making a home here where she died at a terribly young age, and I want to respect that rather than just burn the thing.
