365:81 WaterToday is World Water Day and this is my first ever water drop photograph. Well, when I say “first”, we have taken a couple of dozen so far in testing and setting up. This is the first one good enough to share. We hope for better results over the course of the weekend.

We are using a light sensor rig that Mr L built with an Arduino and a laser emitter/sensor. The rig fires the flash when the water drop breaks the light beam. This requires much patience and concentration on my part as I am in charge of opening the shutter on bulb, dropping the water from a pipette onto target, and closing the shutter again.

Chuffed? You betcha!
