365:124The second outing of the newly-formed Sanday photowalking group was to depart Lady Village at the War Memorial today and to finish at our brand new Heritage centre for it’s opening ceremony.

It’s International Firefighters Day today. Wonderful, thought I, I’ll grab a shot of the Fire Station as it is nicely situated immediately to the right of the War Memorial and immediately to the left of the Heritage Centre.

As it happened, the walk was called off for weather. The Opening ceremony was still happening and we went out for that. I leaped out of the LR and dashed off to grab the Fire Station shot. Only I had the wrong lens on and could not get far enough back to get the whole of the building in frame. This will have to do.

Not sure how tomorrow will go as I have to go into Kirkwall again. It may be an “any old shot day”.
