I received a mystery parcel on Christmas Eve. A blue bag, from The Yarn Yard. Nothing I had purchased... it was marked not to be opened until Christmas and I was a good girl and I waited...

Leftovers

Dinner tonight was freshly-made tagliatelle egg pasta with a sauce made from white wine, dolcelatte and brie, with mushrooms - all served with a walnut salad. Absolutely gorgeous. I used Pouilly Fumé, as the only bottle of white wine in the house - and glugged about one third of a bottle into a pan, added a small clove of crushed garlic, ...

Typical!

I don't know - you wait for months for a Doctor to arrive and then two come along at once, but neither one takes you anywhere that you want to go! Perhaps Dr Who isn't suited to that format,

I had made a dozen mince pies. I took great care with them, to make them as good as possible under the circumstances. But tragedy befell! ...

Christmas Picnic

Set of photographs of the dogs at the beach on Dec 25th, 2008. The deep/dark colours are due to my forgetting that I had a polariser fitted. In most cases, I don't mind at all. There's something deep and rich and lovely about these images - they remind me in some ways of oil paintings... like they already have the patina of age, somehow - just vague memories already.
