Project Spectrum

Project Spectrum is coming around again. This year the theme is Cardinal Directions and Lolly has put together a group of themes that look really very inspiring. Go read about it. There is much there to play with, either on the fibre front or in paper play or photography. I might even write this year, as I feel the urge to pick up my pen again overwhelming me from time to time. Where will I find the time, though?

Another in our series of cake recipes for the cakes that we make for spinning group. This one comes from SpinningGill and is a tried and tested chocolate brownie recipe that is perhaps a little more economical to make than some others. None the less delicious, though! Measurements are in Imperial.

Spinning Cake: Moist Chocolate Cake

Spinning is here tomorrow, so I have been making cake today. I have just enough time to share the recipe before I return to the work that I ought to be doing instead of this particular displacement activity... This chocolate cake is reasonably economical - it's low on eggs (2) and doesn't involve too much chocolate, although it tastes as though it does.

Flat calm

It has been preying on my mind for a while that this blog needs a new "front cover" article. I had hoped to get out and about at the weekend and maybe document the island under it's light coat of snow. That was not to be. What's a girl to do? It is all very well, this striving for an entertaining and illuminating blog, but when one's life is temporarily rather more than a little flat and boring - what's to do? Write about cleaning cat trays and editing text for publishing? I think not!
