Pause 3 involved a, eyes-closed breathing exercise or two. Then opening the eyes and focusing on something in your line of vision (I am paraphrasing.) I conducted this exercise out on the deck and piked up on all of the fallen leaves, but in particular the way that the little stone gargoyle had grabbed on to a single leaf.

It’s not Autumn yet; the leaves are falling because the tree fights for its life in the heat and the drought. The Autumn drop is governed by day length and lower night temperatures, conditions which are not yet met. When water is short and the sun is strong, trees will drop their leaves to minimise the water lost through the leaves by transpiration. Or something like that, memory of Biology lessons are somewhat hazy by this stage of my life

Pause three would merit another outing, but the continuing very hot weather is keeping me and my camera indoors for now.
