It is pretty typical that, after two days away under solid cloud cover, and coming home yesterday to about 75% cloud cover, today there are none! Nothing but blue sky, can I see.

Slightly put out actually, as today’s forecast was for a relatively cool 23°C, and with cloud. An excellent forecast for working outside, in and around the van. It didn’t transpire and we have had a warm and sunny day, currently peaking at 27°.

However, we did rise early today, due to an expected delivery. It was a fabulous 14°C when we rose, and much work was done before things became too hot. The van bedding has been washed and dried, though the bed is not yet re-made – that can now wait until the cool of tomorrow morning. One drawer, one cupboard, and one locker now emptied, cleaned and ready for re-stocking. Mr L busied himself in tidying and reorganising the boot space.

The delivery, btw, also has not transpired.

Indoors, I have been very occupied in sorting out my herbs and spices etc. Everything labelled and tidy and ready to put in the van. Work on oils, vinegars, and condiments is well under way. Clothes packing is not progressing quite so well. Let’s hope for more cloud cover tomorrow.

We are bracing ourselves for possible impact from Storm Erin. It’s uncertain which way it will track but current forecasts hold the possibility for lots of rain, and high winds by Wednesday night. This is putting pressure on us to get away by Tuesday. It might sound like madness to go off in a campervan, rather than to ride out the storm at base, but the problem at base is that when it rains heavily our pitch becomes a muddy quagmire that makes driving off it impossible (ask us how we know.) We would like to head to a tarmac aire, with no tree cover…

In Other News, I have been suffering a frustrating battle with The Cloud. For about a week now. I will be honest and admit that I really do not understand The Cloud, nor how cloudy (cloudish?) things work. I have learned in the last few days that they don’t, not always.

Headway is being made now, I think. My new laptop took a large section of my photo files (over 5,000) yesterday and they ascended overnight, quite miraculously, to go… where? Will they ever be seen again?

I have NO idea. They seem to have vanished from Lightroom. This is clearly a function of my Cloud-Newbie status (aka ignorance).

Is it a single Cloud, btw, or multiple Clouds? Is Google’s Cloud different to Microsoft’s… Adobe’s… Samsung’s ? And why am I so spooked by my Windoze lappie now knowing what is happening on my Android Phone?

I remember a time when I was up there, at the cutting edge of IT. Now I am clueless.
