We’ll go no more a roving

Today I was planning on sharing with you some sumptuous roving that arrived in the post. Sadly, my photographic skills went missing and I did the fibre no justice at all. I shall attempt the feat again tomorrow.

My singles are off the wheel. There would normally be rejoicing at this point but it is clear that Something Has Gone Horribly Wrong. Either I made a total pig’s ear of splitting the roving., or else I totally lost concentration and spun ¾ of the fibre onto the first bobbin.

Ah well, tomorrow we ply.

So, what can I show you?  Here’s an image from Tuesday’s trip to town:

Detail from the memorial to Capt Fresson, outside the entrance to Kirkwall Air Terminal. A lovely wee thing.
