Violently Domestic’s Knitter’s Curiosity Cabinet

Hunter Hammerson (aka Violently Domestic) has launched the website for her second book of patterns – the Knitter’s Curiosity Cabinet and the book is now available for discounted pre-ordering. It will be available in the Spring as an ebook and there will be a print book available soon thereafter.

The Knitter’s Curiosity Cabinet is stuffed tight with goodies — there are ten sock patterns

Narcissus pseudo-narcissus

and ten accessory patterns, including hats, scarves, mitts etc. All the patterns are inspired by vintage botanical prints.

Hunter blogged about the new venture here.

Hunter’s first book of patterns, Silk Road Socks, is absolutely fabulous and highly recommended. I am certain that the new book will be every bit as good, if not better. Regular readers may recall some secret knitting that I was doing earlier this year. I was in fact testing a pair of fingerless mitts, a cuff, and a pair of socks from the Knitter’s Curiosity Cabinet. The Rosa Rubiginosa socks are in the book, as I knit the actual sample photographed. They’ll be coming home to me one day and I am looking forward to wearing them!

It looks to me as though I had better hurry up back to my Silk Road Socks projects, or I shan’t have Book 1 finished before Book 2 is ready! I am afraid that I fell from that wagon very heavily indeed – I still have my June and my July socks on the needles. I have no idea where August, September, October and November went to! Lots of catching up to do.

PS – forgot to say, the pre-ordered eBook is an extremely good value and very mere… $16.95 ! 84.75 cents per pattern? How can you pass that up? Unless you are waiting for the hard copy, that is.
