Mince Pies

Mince Pies

Festive food.

I ate two. Mr L ate two.

Nell scoffed eight, plus two jam pasties made from the leftover pastry.

I had made a dozen mince pies. I took great care to make a rich and buttery almond-ish sablé pastry. I enhanced the bought-in mincemeat with almonds, stem ginger, and cognac…

I cannot tell you how pleased I am that we were greedy and had two each, fresh from the oven. We might have missed them all.

Nell is turning into the most awful thief!

We wormed her last week, wondering if she was always hungry due to infestation. She’s still eating us out of house and home. Never puts any weight on.
