Yarny Additions

In the post today – a package of yarn scraps from Jenny. These are, as far as she can recall, all Bonny from The Yarn Yard so it was not at all surprising that there was a large intake of breath when the contents spilled out onto the bed. Natalie is a very clever dyer and is notable IMO among indie dyers for her real understanding of colour. These scraps will provide single squares that will form highlights in my blankie.

Also in today’s post, and direct from Natalie, one skein of Toddy in the most amazing colour combination, like Tequila Sunrise. Almost too good for socks, I may have to make a lace triangle of it. There was also a skein of Firth, a 50/50 blend of Merino and Tencel in a heavy laceweight – 800 yards. It’s pink! For somebody who doesn’t care much for pink, I do seem to purchase a lot of pink yarn. They are almost always like this one though, very much on the blue end of pink. Lavender pink? Anyway, it is truly stunning.

No photos yet. It’s a grey day and I can’t get my lamp out, as my table is covered in card-making stuff just now.

I’m off to spinning shortly and am aiming to walk there today. Really feeling in need of some exercise and fresh air in my lungs. If I am going to walk then I need to get a move on, it’s getting late… (ooh, and parcel bloke just arrived! Parcels to unwrap!)

Migraine kept me at home yesterday – I’ll be making another attempt to get to town tomorrow.

The Thorfinn socks are almost finished and will be off the needles today.

Evenstar is a bit of a casualty just now and I’ll speak of that later.

Please excus eme, I want to go and look atmy new carpet tiles. Squeee!!!!
