The best-laid schemes o’ mice an’ men Gang aft agley

I should never make plans. It doesn’t suit me and it never works out.

I was away to town today. That was The Plan:  I had the bus to the ferry booked and my hair appointment made. I had intended to visit Ingrid Budge‘s photo exhibition and to call in at Kirkness & Gorie to see if they had any Mont d’Or left. I was going to take my camera around the kirkyard and shoot gravestones. I was hoping to call in at the glass shop for a sheet of glass to play with in my “studio”. Oh, yes, I was full of it.

So who woke up with aching bones and no voice this morning?

Absolutely no voice whatsoever. Scarcely even a whisper coming out. I had to get Mr L to make the phone call to cancel the bus pick up.

Now I have to figure out what to whip up for lunch, not having been to the shop for fresh veg and salad.

And especially BAH! since I found out that I could have gone to see this as well.

I wish that this was finished, then I could snuggle up nice and cosy.

I was working on the blankie at Spinning yesterday and spread it out on the floor to see how it is shaping up. I took the opportunity to photograph it but the lighting in there is awful. My blankie is much prettier than it appears in this shot.

I might knit some more of it. today. Perhaps in bed. I can’t get warm just now.

I had a sudden urge to invite all my friends to come and stay and to shareContinue readingBare Naked

I have a list of prompts t be caught up on and I shall be working my way through them here, or at Scattered Thoughts depending on where the post most naturally sits. I have elected to tackle the prompts not in date order necessarily but to seize upon prompts that offer me space in which to write down the things that I am feeling the need to say. Even if I need to crowbar it in. The thing is, I am going to continue to be short of time and space in which to write and so a two-for-one is useful and I hope to do as many of those as I can. Seems like a plan? … Continue readingA Month in France: Nothing is Lost
