Having identified Mr L’s next sweater pattern, I placed an order with Amazon for the necessary book:
Simply Shetland 4: At Tomales Bay. Once that was successfully done, I tootled off to eBay and purchased a cone of yarn – a nice mid-grey lambswool/silk blend.
What happened next was a tad disturbing – Amazon cancelled my book order. BUT I’VE PAID FOR THE YARN, YOU IDIOTS!
I tried to recoup the situation. EBay sellers had books 2, 3 and 5, but no 4’s available.
So, I Googled.
Places that had copies were wanting £18.99 for it… and that hurt. Eventually, I found somewhere selling at a slight discount and not wanting silly amounts for p&p. I placed my order. I went through to the payment screen. I submitted my card details… and got blobbed back to the original order screen, with no idea of whether my payment had been successful or not.
I emailed the vendor to ask if the order had gone through.
This was yesterday. I have had no reply. I just emailed to ask for a reply to my previous mail…
If anybody has a copy of this book that they no longer want or need, I’d be happy to hear from you in order to do a deal!
