I have some loot to share with you.

Photographic evidence. It exists. Mine, all mine

The yarn is from The Yarn Yard, and is Caber. It is the one that I want to use first but it is considerably lighter (at 450m per 100g) than any of the patterns call for and I shall have to do some tweaking and mathematics before I begin.

There will be a full review of the book later but my initial disappointment does need to be noted:  these patterns are almost all for heavier yarns than I care to use for socks.

I shall assuage my disappointment by playing with my new spinning toys…

I had hoped to try it out this morning but first of all my FiL’s crossword, then secondly the dog’s poorly tummy got in the way of that ambition. Later today, maybe, if I am not glueing CDs into books.

We also have a drop spindle, Turkish.

And a lovely new Lazy Kate.

More shopping on the way – I lashed out on some sock blockers this morning.  I’ll be needing them for the Francie socks.

Even if I need to crowbar it in. The thing is, I am going to continue to be short of time and space in which to write and so a two-for-one is useful and I hope to do as many of those as I can. Seems like a plan? … Continue readingA Month in France: Nothing is Lost
