Safe and Sound

Never underestimate the comfort of a good bed with clean sheets, nor the pleasure of a long hot soak in a bath with real proper bath sheets to dry off after, and certainly not the reviving effect of a properly powerful morning shower.

Yes, dear blog, we are returned from 2 nights on mainland Orkney and 7 sleeps in Scotland.

Tales of our travels follow later. For now it’s launder, rinse and repeat… I’ll just say that we had weather that was reasonable to stunning in places and that we all had fun and walked a great deal.

I started backblipping last night and that process will continue. I shall post here about a few things and then I shall catch up on Brunhilde’s blog last.

I am lagging on the Month in the Country prompts, and lagging badly at that. I have a list of prompts t be caught up on and I shall be working my way through them here, or at Scattered Thoughts depending on where the post most naturally sits. I have elected to tackle the prompts not in date order necessarily but to seize upon prompts that offer me space in which to write down the things that I am feeling the need to say.
