I can’t see what went wrong, I’ve checked against the pattern – all the same, the instep is not centred and I seem to have 3 ribs on one side of the foot, and one incomplete rib on the other side. After busily working the heel and picking up the gusset…

I AM GOING TO HAVE TO RIP IT ALL OUT.

Perhaps I was paying too much attention to Dr Who last night and not enough to the knitting. But I SWEAR that I followed the pattern implicitly.
