Poppy Progress: 05/09 Little Miss Smartypants

So, I thought I could knit and puzzle at the same time. So I did. AndI was getting on famously until I spotted the dropped stitch. I need to tink. That probably won’t happen today. Maybe tomorrow.

Acknowledging the low light levels last might, I swapped to the back-up project. A Handsome Triangle. It is up to Row 50 now. I will start a series of posts for that soon.

Knitting time will be at a premium this week: cooking today, Craft club Monday, spinning Wednesday, trip to town, Ranger photo walk on Friday (Yay!) I’d like to reach the border by the weekend, but it is difficult to see how, especially now the need to tink has arisen. That’ll teach me.

In Other News:

1)  I made a spreadsheet to calculate %age done on the Poppies. It came out to all but 15% and I added that figure to yesterday’s post.

2) I found myself inexplicably driven this morning to cast on another Clapotis -  after discussion on the shawl KAL board. Clapotis Mk3III I must be mad.

3) Still have headache

The rest of the day will be given over to the preparation, making of, and eating pakora.

Will try to do progress photos tomorrow.

I had a sudden urge to invite all my friends to come and stay and to shareContinue readingBare Naked

A Month in France: Nothing is Lost

A Month in France: Nothing is Lost

I am lagging on the Month in the Country prompts, and lagging badly at that. I have a list of prompts t be caught up on and I shall be working my way through them here, or at Scattered Thoughts depending on where the post most naturally sits. I have elected to tackle the prompts not in date order necessarily but to seize upon prompts that offer me space in which to write down the things that I am feeling the need to say. Even if I need to crowbar it in. The thing is, I am going to continue to be short of time and space in which to write and so a two-for-one is useful and I hope to do as many of those as I can. Seems like a plan? … Continue readingA Month in France: Nothing is Lost

We just met our first Spanish self service fuel, there has always been an attendant whenever we have fueled up on previous visits. The machine took the card, asked which pump (!?), what fuel, and how much. It chucked the ticket out, said something in Spanish, and then failed to provide any diesel. We are… Continue reading October 21, 2020 at 11:21AM
