Mr L insisted, despite his sore back, on putting the loom together last night. We began with the stand, believing it would be by far the simpler task. Flushed with success, we moved on to the loom itself.

I should be honest – it was not 100% plain sailing and we did have some disassembling to do, but it was ultimately O.K.  Here is the proof!

She needs a name! The wheel is called  Constance. I thought perhaps another  ‘virtuous’ name for the loom?  But which – Faith? Hope? Charity? or something  other? you decide. Suggestions below, please.

I imagine that it will be some while before this  loom sees any use; I need to learn how to  warp it and I need a warping frame or mill.  I suspect I’ll be needing a few other items too.  But I do hope to begin practising on SpinningGill’s  fixed heddle loom in the meantime.

The cats, BTW, had a splendid time overnight  in destroying the packaging. I need to go and  clear up the mess now.

I’m no longer keen on going to Kirkwall today – that migraine is being bothersome.

It looks good in the living room!
I’ll dig out my warping frame for you to borrow and we’ll set about warping the loom.
    (Only slightly green-eyed) 🙂

It can’t stay there – that’s where Teddy and Treacle sleep. Imagine leaving a piece of work on it and what I would wake up to ! Besides, it would make spinning group a bit cramped…

    Charity – very forgiving!

Plus you then have to two ‘C’s together!

The Lions outside the New York Public Library are called Prudence and Virtue (even though they’re both male!). I think Prudence would be an excellent name.
