Sock Innovation: Knitting Techniques and Patterns for One-of-a Kind Socks
Sock Innovation: Knitting Techniques and Patterns for One-of-a Kind Socks

If I can generate a wee bit of income this year, these two books are currently at the top of my “most wanted” list. Linked to the Woolgatherer’s Amazon affiliate account – feel free to break out of the link but it costs you nothing, and might generate a small amount towards my savings so that I can buy these myself…

First up, the amazing Cookie A’s book, due out in April, I think.

Sock Innovation: Knitting Techniques and Patterns for One-of-a Kind Socks

Cookie A is a genius, there is no other term for it. Her engineering approach to socks is simply awesome and the fit is terrific. She also provides plenty for the thinking knitter to be doing, as well as a ton of style. Great socks.

There’s a PDF download  preview of the book at Cookie A’s web site, www.cookiea.com.

The second book that I have my eye on is edited by Carol Sulcoski:

Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn

This book has some killer patterns in it – they already listed at Ravelry.

Particularly exciting to me are Spread SpectrumSpot Check but there’s a whole bunch of possibilities there.

Got it! 🙂

Bare Naked

We are home again, after a month-long trip away. A trip during which I completely failed to get my laptop out. It was good to come home. A Month in France: Nothing is Lost

A Month in France: Nothing is Lost

I have a list of prompts t be caught up on and I shall be working my way through them here, or at Scattered Thoughts depending on where the post most naturally sits. I have elected to tackle the prompts not in date order necessarily but to seize upon prompts that offer me space in which to write down the things that I am feeling the need to say. Even if I need to crowbar it in. The thing is, I am going to continue to be short of time and space in which to write and so a two-for-one is useful and I hope to do as many of those as I can. Seems like a plan? … Continue readingA Month in France: Nothing is Lost

La Cavalerie. We had been going to stay the night here, there’s both a cheese France Passion (we are in Roquefort country) and a CCP Aire. It’s a lovely little town. However with last night’s warning of tonight’s address from M. Macron… we are covering more ground in expectation of imminent travel restrictions. Just called… Continue reading October 28, 2020 at 12:31PM

Seeing some sensational autumn colours on this drive but finding it hard to capture what with all the bouncing, twisting and turning. Not to mention the crappy IG camera facility. #livereportingfromtheroad #france #autumn2020
