Inspiration

Rather more Inspiration than Inspirational… I was reading the news when it occurred to me what brilliant writing prompts can be found amongst News Headlines.

Coronavirus: Driver stopped on M6 lockdown trip with wife in boot” – now, just how many stories could you think of with that in your head? It is almost a shame to click through and read what it was actually about.

Anyway, it got me a thinking about my Lockdown List. I don’t think that I made room in it for getting back to some writing. or did I? I have a vague memory of wanting to make some poems…

(Brief hiatus) Okay, I went to look at my list and I have updated it. I am pleased to be able to say that under the heading of “Writing” I have already made progress. You might have noticed an increase in blogging rate – at least here and at Crooked House. I still need to catch up at Two Snails. There has been Luggage safely stowed away too. I have also made efforts to catch up with a few folk via email and I made a promise in a post on Facebook to make myself available via Skype to anybody who might need to chat,

I resurrected my Twitter this weekend. I doubt whether I shall stick with it. All these years and I still don’t really understand Twitter!

Learning French has not made much progress but I have at least paid for 12 months of Babbel (paid for six, got six free – current promotion.) I made the commitment, I just need to knuckle down now. FutureLearn is going slightly better and I am slightly ahead of course schedule. on the Covid-19 course. Not making any progress this afternoon due to The Monkees playing on the music box. I have earphones charging as we speak…

The house is cleaner and tidier than usual but there is scope for further time-filling there and in the garden. Not in the garden today as it is bloomin’ cold! (see today’s Crooked House post).

Davy is singing “I Wanna be Free” at me just now. How very Lockdown-appropriate! (watch this space, I feel some words coming on…)
