FO: Echoes of Eden

Pair of 4ply fingerless mittens for PIF recipient.

Knitted in a lambswool and silk blend in a fabulous turquoise shade incorporating tweedy flecks of green and violet.

I started these in February, by knitting the leaf edging, then put the project away to enable concentration on other more pressing projects. I picked them up again on April 23rd, after completing the Girasole Shawl. They began on magic loop but I was struggling along with a kinky cable and tight stitches. I swapped to two short circulars and they flew together after that. They came in just under the PS4 North wire on the evening of 30th April, bringing the PS4 project completion total up to five. Not a bad haul.

I have a confession to make. These are not a pair, and I shall have to make at least one more. Can you see how stupid I have been? If you can’t, I shan’t tell you. Why not? Because it is completely ridiculous, what I did. Truly.

It’s a nice pattern. I’ll make more of these – maybe to use up the Baby Merino…

are the thumbs different, I don’t have my reading glasses on and I’m squinting so I could be wrong?

The thumbs are nominally the same, though I think I managed to cast one off more loosely than the other. No, that’s not it…
