The Fire stash is something of an embarrassment (Fire runs February/March – so I am on a losing streak here). Worse still, this isn’t all of it – I forgot to include some WIP yarns
Fire: Red, Orange, Pink
In addition to this little lot, I have the Violet Green Stroud Supersock in Red Hot Sox, some Hipknits silk lace in shades of orange and creamy yellow, and the cashmere 2ply in dusky pink. Also some pink tops coming. Not to mention the grey/red mohair/merino tops currently on my wheel. Eek!
From left to right: unknown Colinette from grab bag, Noro Implessions (could go in any group, it has so many shades in it), my handspun Delightful merino (already made one hat), Inferno tops, Orkney Angora in Clover, Hipknits Silk Aran in Vibrant (leftovers), soy silk tips for spinning (I’m learning to drop spindle with it), unknown Colinette mohair from grab bag, Torch Island tops, Hipknits Aran Silk in Knox to frog from a failed Clapotis, fragment of red mohair from Colinette.
It’s a lot to get through!
The angora is earmarked for bed socks, the tops are for spinning fun – I have no plans for any of the remainder photographed. The Red Hot Sox is for Firestarters, the cashmere is for mitts, and the silk lace is for a practice run at lead or follow, so that I don’t spoil the blue/green yarn. Am I mad? Probably!
The funny thing is, I’m not a fan of any of the three colours in this group – so how did I end up with all this stash, plus what I have used already? (Araucania in Kenaz bag, mohair in Dragon Scale mitts, Torch Island in Noro Hat, Delightful in Spring Cap)
Much of this lot could be up for interesting swaps… interested?
