Earth Stash

The group that I would have expected to be the largest is actually rather moderate.

Earth: Green, Brown, Metallics

No metallics at all (not my thing, when it comes to knitting). The silk from Water could just as easily go here, of course (and may yet), as could the Orkney Angora lambswool mix and my ShetlandX dyed handspun…

From left to right:  my handspun BFL (shawl in progress – just), The Poodle handspun Shetland/Manx/Corriedale, handspun Jacob “lumpy bumpy”, The Yarn Yard bamboo (Fountain Hat in progress), Violet Green’s Stroud Supersock in Heather, Opal Sock in olive/terracotta/aqua, Violet Green’s Sockrates merino in Arizona, Hipknits Cashmere Sock in Grrowlly and Greengage (#1 Husband Socks in progress)

An astonishingly thin group, given my natural leanings to greens and browns. No fibre? Ah, worry not, there is some winging its way across the Atlantic as I type. And the Yarn Yard pencil roving could go here, too.

Question – should I use PS3 for impetus to experiment with a little Lurex etc. and just expand my creative horizons a wee bit?

If anybody would like to gift me some bits of metallic threads or fibres to play with, I’ll happily post them the outcomes of my play in exchange – I can’t actually wear anything with such materials in, as my skin is sensitive to them.
