A spell of unpleasantness

It looks as though we are in for a spell. A Yellow Warning for Wind has been in force, likelihood was quite low and Wind Gusts predicted to be up to 80/90 mph.

That warning has now been upgraded to Amber for Thursday and Friday and Yellow again for Saturday. The Impact indicator remains the same but the likelihood has increased and this is what has shoved us into the Amber zone.

Gusts may be up to 100 mph overnight on Thursday. It’s from the West, of course, so it’s going to be a sleepless night for us with the wind and rain battering the bedroom window.

You know what? I’m kind of glad that we were unable to book the car onto the boat for this Friday 🙂

There has been a spot of unpleasantness in Broadchurch too.

We were seeking something to watch on Netflix now that Hank Moody has been dispensed with. I spotted the delectable Mr Tennant and asked what Broadchurch was. Mr L told me he had heard good reports of it, so we started watching it. Not our usual viewing genre but Olivia Colman is always worth watching and with Tennant for eye candy…

We’re actually quite enjoying it and have watched six episodes. Mr L tells me today that coincidentally Series 2 started last night. We had a look and the first episode is available on the ITV player for 29 days so we think we may polish off the last of Series 1 on Netflix and then catch up with the new series on ITV. I guess there will be adverts, won’t there? Not so good, that.

I’m pondering whether or no to have a Fast day today. I had no breakfast, mainly due to not feeling like eating, and can whip up a suitable lunch… I’m just not sure it’s a good idea when I am feeling unwell. Some time soon I think I shall try a 4:3 regime. Mr L says he’s happy to do Mondays and Wednesdays and I can tack on Friday. Maybe not just now though.

I think I’ll just whip up some spaghetti with Pesto today. Then a quick tour around the garden to move anything that isn’t fastened down.

I’d say that we are in agreement then, Liz 🙂

Oh, I cried and cried at Series 1 Ep 8 !

I don’t believe there has ever been anything like this on British TV before? The concentration on community and relationships rather than the crime detection makes for quite gripping viewing. You’ll have to forgive me but I am convinced that the Vicar is going to turn out to be a wrong ‘un at some point, or maybe it’s just that “Rory” is a duff actor. The crossovers with Dr Who are just a little weird at times and we cannot believe that Tennant has not yet uttered the immortal “I am so, SO sorry” Overall though, going down well at our house.
