There has been shopping.
There has been mail.
Yesterday saw delivery of one of Natalie’s lovely green bags… soft and squishy and full of fluffy promise.
A while back I was reading the Yarn Yard blog and saw this post. How could I resist? It was so me.
I could not decide what to get, so I hedged my bets…
From Right to Left…
There was BFL roving to spin
and there was Machair 400, for petting.
Machair is an alpaca blend that I am more familiar with in laceweight. This yarn gives 400 metres to 100g and is therefore around a 4ply/fingering/sock weight (though I would not waste it on socks!)
Finally, there was something of an aberration – some Moondance
Yes, I know – sparkly socks are so not me! My only excuse can be that I wanted to show it to somebody who does love sparkles.
I confess that I loved the Machair so much at first sight that it is already a new Blue Blob
It is going to be wonderful.
My sweet MiL sent me a scratch card in my birthday card last month. It had two winning lines on it, and I therefore had a tenner to spend. I decided to take it to town with me last Friday and I knew exactly where I was going with it.
I bought some fluff.
This is naturally dyed fluff, from North Ronaldsay.
£10 a bag and stuffed with a wonderful array of shades.
No, not for spinning…
I do believe that I shall do some needle felting or other embellishment technique with this pack. There are several lovely shades in it that I think will look well on the YoYo scarf that I finished weaving recently.
I think I shall purchase an embroidery hoop when I venture into town this week.
