A wander through my stash

Feb 28th, 2010 | By wool gatherer | Category: Yarn Stash

Those “holes” in my Ravelry stash  page have been bugging me so, while I had my light tent out, I’ve been doing a little catching up. I love the way that a few small changes make such a huge difference to my photographs.
Although these images were still a little slapdash. I improved on them throughout [...]

100 Pure Wool Laceweight

May 22nd, 2009 | By wool gatherer | Category: Yarn Stash

The yarn which was ordered from Uruguay via Etsy on 3rd May, with a 30 day delivery estimate, arrived this morning. The quality looks good – think Malabrigo, but fine and even. It’s not all that fine, considering the length 950 yards to 50 gms – it’s a lofty single, soft spun.

The disappointing part was the colour

PS4 Stash Assessment

May 5th, 2009 | By wool gatherer | Category: ps4

There is a cornucopia of riches awaiting my East efforts in my stash basket, given my focus on spice shades as well as Yellow. We have rovings to spin and yarns to knit, and some yarns that I have earmarked for weaving too.

4ply Lambswool and Silk

Feb 13th, 2009 | By wool gatherer | Category: Yarn Stash

New stash from Kingcraig Fabrics.

This is an 850grm cone of 75% lambswool/25% silk. I am planning to knit myself a top from this, and also several pairs of fingerless mitts.

Mango Berry

Feb 13th, 2009 | By wool gatherer | Category: Fibre Stash

Newly arrived from Copperpot on Etsy – 8ozs of Merino Fibre in “Mango Berry” blend.

This is very much for me. I previously spun a Copeprpot Merino top in Torch Island and knitted my mate a “Noro Hat”. In the recent gales I discovered what a very cosy hat that is …

…I thought I’d make myself one…

Not really stash

Feb 8th, 2009 | By wool gatherer | Category: Yarn Stash

I am fairly sure that this doesn’t count as stash enhancement, seeing as it was gifted to me. It’s Paton’s “Jet” – an alpaca and wool combination chunky weight yarn. I got two balls in a RAK package and fell instantly in love with it.
