Lst August I bought a skein of Gloaming from Natalie at The Yarn Yard. It’s a Merino/Silk blend offering 800m to a 100g skein.
The yarn has languished for a while.
Cue the Echo Flower Shawl.

The Skew sock was completed last night and I tried it on. This thing is just not going to work, so it is off to the frog pond for it.
I had a lot of fun, the whole knitting thing was a real magical mystery tour. I’m glad I made it, but I am never going [...]

The Sock and I decided that life is too short to spend hours confined on a ferry and in killing time kicking heels around in town. We stayed home and did a little mutual growth exercise instead…

A short examination of one form of shawl construction… which may exhibit very little clarity butmakes just a little sense to myself.

The second instalment of Evenstar was released at 6pm last night. There is one chart of 34 rounds, worked over 280 stitches – so there are 4 setup rows, with the stitches first being doubled to 288, then reduced to 280. I executed the setup rows, then set the work aside until today. Am currently [...]

The snow-inspired project was so exciting for me that I was really quite devastated that it would not work. I frogged it three times and then gave up. I was sad1
Something soft and intricate was definitely indicated after knitting with horrible aran yarn for a couple of days and I was not going to be [...]

I was true to my word and set about re-knitting my Evenstar yesterday.
I am now the proud owner of a far finer piece of knitting than attempt number 1 was ever going to be. It was worth the extra effort.
Clue two is to be released earlier this week, so that we European knitters can make a start today rather than having to wait until Saturday.

Inspired by our recent snowfalls, there is a new project on the needles. It’s not going perfectly just yet, so I’ll not disclose too much in case it goes off to the frog pond never to return.
The good news is that it is simple (ish), perfectly beautiful (if I execute it correctly) and it comes from stash.

I notified the fifth of my Ten Shawls in 2010 yesterday. Such progress! You might think that I am overdoing it, I’m rushing – but there is method in my madness, I think. I want to be free of the one sock skein triangles and leave plenty of time for meeting some challenges this year. [...]

The Citron shawl iscompleted and now ready for blocking. I added two extra tiers plus a little extra length in the ruffle to balance the larger size. My own little twists included a row of cat’s paw in the final ruffle, and a picot edge cast-off. I’ve renamed the project: Citron Pressé
I’m going to re-knit [...]
