A very wet morning followed a very wet night but by lunchtime the sun was finally out. Mr L took Nell for a long walk and I stayed home with the laundry but found time to drag myself up to the top of the hill while the dryer was one. I was in search of some signs of Spring.
I have been watching the Rhododendron buds swelling for some weeks now. This is the first bush to flower if we don’t count the one that has flowered continuously, albeit weakly, since November.
There are plenty more to follow, plus Azaleas and Camellias. I do believe that there may be Magnolias too and there are some Pieris about to burst forth too. I hope that we get to see some of this glorious abundance before it is time to leave. This Rhodie gives me hope.
I had been looking for some Crocus today as we saw some flowering in Dumfries on Thursday. I could not find any on site here but there are many Snowdrops to admire instead.
If this weather lasts we may take off into the wilds again. In the meantime we are making the most of the hook-up and Mr L baked some Chocolate Brownies in the new Remoska yesterday. I made Sweet Potato Wedges in it this evening.
