FO: Girasole Shawl

My first circular shawl. This was intended to be a practice run, in preparation for a blanket-sized version later.
This pattern is very simple to knit and suitable for the relatively novice lace knitter. The beauty of the piece arises from its geometry and simplicity.
Sunflower
Knitted without lifelines. Some tinking involved: once at 320 stitches and once at 640 stitches. Both times in setting the pattern after the increase row, when I lost rhythm. Once the pattern is established, it is easily “read” and errors can be corrected swiftly. I tried stitch markers at 640 stitches, with 40 repeats to mark. They lasted one row before I took them out again!

Max repeats in the pattern as written is 80.
Most of the shawl was knitted between the 12th and 23rd of April, with a few days’ rest in the middle. Edging took two days…
