Further to my Feeling Seedy post:

The yarn choice is fixed. These beads might “go” – and give it a lift at the same time?

The scarf takes lots of them, so I do think that they need some variety of shading in them….

I tried re-colouring the closeup of the scarf, to try to envisage how the beads might go with it. I don’t think it was overly successful :-)

I stole the scarf image. I think this is OK, as I use them to link back to the original page – it serves as advertising and who is going to complain very much about that, so long as attribution is given? All the same, if complaints are received, I’ll happily take the image down.

One problem with the beads – I need 100g and these come in 18g packs, so are going to be relatively expensive.

Bargains can be had on eBay – but when am I going to use a kilo of seed beads?

I am finding the choice very difficult. Too many pages to visit and too little faith in the capability of the camera lens to capture true colour.

There are some times when I do mind, just a little, living so very far from any shopping possibilities. Not often, to be true, but right now? Well, I’d love to be in a bead shop, running my hands through the seed beads and feasting eyes on the colours – not to mention doing my own pick and mix colour choice!

Tell you one thing, once I have made my mind up on the bead choice, I think this scarf is going to be a beautiful thing!

  1. They will, I think the beads you have will go beautifully and lift the yarn and add a bit of subtle variation.

  2. I LOVE what you did with the photo… of course you have permission for an creative endeavor like yours! What a great way to see how your yarn will look in the pattern! I think the beads you got will look lovely with your yarn and think you should go for it! Let me know if you run into ?’s on the pattern… there is a KAL in the Schaefer yarn Group on Ravelry if you need help….. Warmly, Laura
