I really enjoyed making this but I’m not certain that I want to make a second pair from this pattern and I am sure I can find something with a more refined shape to it, somewhere. If you can point me at a good free sock pattern on the ‘net, please do.
I’m not sure I did v well at all with the grafting. I probably should have left it until my migraine has lifted, but I am an impatient soul at the best of times…
I’m not convinced that I have enough yarn for the second sock. I may end up with a varicoloured toe… anyway, I intend to avoid second sock syndrome, at least this time around. ![]()
Casting on again later tonight.

Well Done!!
After the second sock - it’ll be time for the HAND-SPUN socks

Congratulations, that is quite a milestone!
I too am looking forward to seeing that lovely handspun wool as something else, be it textured socks or wall hanging or hat or whatever. There’s no danger of running out of wool either. You just make some more.

first I’ll have to do some spinning. I need a new hookie thing. I must make one today, or I can’t do anything.
After Minutes revision, I think, ‘cos the headache seems to be lifting.

First one has to catch one’s sheep.
I missed that experience yesterday due to migraine and I am feeling quite put out about it because I had been really looking forward to it.

You were supposed to go sheep-catching yesterday??
Me | 21-Jun-07 at 1:01 pm | Permalink
Oh, yes. No, really - we were!
We were at Crudy this week (except I wasn’t) and F. needed to clip her sheep. She was in need of some muscle, so we said we’d go in old clothes (are there any other kind?) and give her a hand. I was going to take photographs to form part of our spinning display at the Craft Fair in August. I am really sorry to have missed it, but was feeling wretched yesterday.

Sorry you felt rotten. It’s a shame you missed that.

You may want to try toe-up. I had a difficult time with toe grafting and getting a fit I liked. http://www.knitting.com has a universail toe-up pattern. You will measure your foot and find out what is right for you own foot. Once you get all the measuring down, you will form now on, hae custompatern fo your foot.
